Life Cycle Assessment of Various Filtering Media for Greywater Treatment Using Greenwall Filtration System
نویسندگان
چکیده
The risk of global water crisis is becoming more evident due to the increase in overall urban population and reduction freshwater availability. Treated greywater using greenwall technology was identified as a potential method produce for non-potable applications. filtering media acts growing plants filtration medium. In this study, pollutant removal efficiency environmental impacts associated with two medias (coir pith perlite) were investigated. coir found have higher efficiencies both COD TSS compared perlite. Besides, life cycle each used treatment compared. Coir impact on warming (1.19568 kg CO2 eq.) consumption (0.00066295 m 3 ), while perlite terms fossil depletion (0.045562 oil terrestrial ecotoxicity (0.008508135kg 1,4-DB eq). conclusion, study provides framework in-depth data analysis entire filter decision-making tool selection suitable system.

Using Life Cycle Assessment Method for Selecting Optimal Waste Management System in Tehran City
Introduction: In Tehran with a population of 9 million currently, about 2.5 million tons municipal solid waste have been producing annually. Materials and Models: In this study by using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) model an optimal system of waste management of Tehran was recommended. Based on the quantity and quality of waste in Tehran in 2013 and facilities, three scenarios were selected. Fir...

Introduction: Due to population growth and subsequent limited water resources, the use of treatment plant effluents is of particular importance. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify the environmental effects of the treatment plant and also to identify critical points or weaknesses of the treatment plant system and provide corrective action to reduce the severity of the effects. M...
متن کاملassessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea
data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Using Life-cycle Assessment for Sustainable Consumption
The 2002 World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg called for a comprehensive set of programs focusing on sustainable consumption and production. According to world leaders, these programs should rely on life cycle analysis (LCA) to promote sustainable patterns of production and consumption. Cleaner production is a wellestablished activity and it uses LCA. UNEP, the European Unio...
متن کاملLife-Cycle Assessment of Wastewater Treatment Plants
This thesis presents a general model for the carbon footprints analysis of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), using a life cycle assessment (LCA) approach. In previous research, the issue of global warming is often related to traditional industries with high carbon dioxide (C0 2) emissions, such as power plants and transportation. However, the analyses of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) h...
